Mercer Slough

There is a large blueberry farm and a farm stand on land that was previously a farm. The peat soil keeps the fir trees from growing but is very good soil for a variety of wetland plants and animals. The river is home to great blue herons, ducks, geese, and the park is home to the Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center.
