Dana Lee Cohen Improvises In her Overalls (and not much else) at Elder’s Point in the Jamaica Bay, Brooklyn/Queens’s Only National Park So Let’s Save It! .wmv

By admin On November 19, 2010 Under Wetland

New York City comedienne and environmental superstar activist Dana Lee Cohen riffs live on the Bay! One of my favorite little gigs. We went out there to keep crabs from getting caught in the nets that catch the spartina. Elder’s Point is a man-made wetland island of 70 acres. The Army Corps of Engineers actually did something right! They can do more and more! They MUST! We are losing our wetlands and we need them, the birds need them, the bees need them…etc. Hello to all the cool folks at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, particularly the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge Task Force, George Frame, and the greatest of them all, Don Riepe. You all move me to tears. Let’s fight the power! Department of Environmental Protection PLEASE wake up and smell the 300 million pounds of sewage you drop in New York City’s waters daily, because some day it’ll be your karma, what you be doin! Sewage treatment with plants is a carbon guzzlin’, ethanol makin’ win win win! Let’s all win win win! PMA baby!
